Stonewall is an exuberant, award-winning musical based on the real and tumultuous events of the Gay Rights Movement. Upon its theatrical premiere at the 1995 Sundance Film Festival, The Los Angeles Times raved, “Loaded with vintage songs and carefully detailed, Stonewall…creates an entertaining meld of fact and fantasy with a sure-fire mix of humor and pathos…” This effervescent yet poignant program follows the life of small-town hustler Matty (Frederick Weller, Armageddon) as he fights for equality during the Stonewall riots of 1969 in New York City. To the accompaniment of The Shangri-Las, Patti LaBelle and Judy Garland - Stonewall mixes outrageous lip-synching with glitter, romance and attitude.

Stonewall is one of those rare movies showing a struggling trangendered community in usa of being accepted,very entertaining movie and one thats not easily forgotten only seen on tv 5 stars.
