IMPERIAL WAR MUSEUM: ROYAL NAVY AT WAR: THE UNSEEN FILMS includes four DVD volumes spanning the period from 1940 to 1943. These 28 films, all relating to the Royal Navy, give both a general overview of the navy’s role at the time and an in-depth look at some of its activities. A collection of wartime Naval instructional films prepared for the Admiralty offers a detailed and truly diverse look at the skills exposed to be mastered by the men of the Royal Navy and their duties on board ship. Another collection covers the commissioning of the HMS Howe, HMS London, HMS King George V and other vessels that saw service during WWII. More films offer a diverse insight into Fleet Air Arm operations and its carriers and aircraft. As a complete set, these films are necessary viewing for anyone interested in British maritime history.
